Wilson Lake Kansas

"Kansas Clearest Lake"

Wilson Lake Area Association

The Wilson Lake Area Association was formed in 1968 to promote the newly built Wilson Lake to outdoor enthusiasts.

Today more than 125 active members continue to promote the lake with yearly fundraisers, events and contests.

Some of the events the Lake Association holds or helps with are the 4th of July Poker Run, OK Kids Day and the ECO Meet.

In February the Lake Association sets up a booth at the annual Boat Sport and Travel Show in Wichita, where members hand out lake guides, produced by the Wilson Lake Association Board of Directors, and promote the lake.

The State designated Post Rock Scenic Byway, runs from I-70 exit 206 to Hwy. K-18 along the Hell Creek Area, east shoreline and across the Wilson Lake Dam connecting the towns of Lucas and Wilson.

In both communities can be found food, gas and lodging for visitors coming to the lake.

Information on camping, fishing and events at Wilson Lake can be found by calling the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks at 785-658-2465 or the U S Army Corp of Engineers at 785-658-2551.
